Bristol and Clifton Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in the southwest. Our stunning mature parkland course has been host to England Golf events, earning our reputation as one of the finest courses in the region.
We’re a friendly and inclusive club, welcoming golfers of all ages and abilities who want to enjoy our beautiful course. We’re keen to help more women and girls into the sport and are working with Gloucestershire Golf Partnership to make this happen. To kick off our programme of events this year, we’re running a number of free Golf Taster Sessions at the club.
Golf Taster Sessions
We’re running these on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. Those who register will be invited to the clubhouse for a drink with our Professional Coach, our Women’s Captain and some of the women members.
They’ll give you an overview of the facilities and our development path from beginner golfer through to getting a handicap and beyond. You’ll then get an opportunity to hit balls on our driving range and short game areas supervised by our Professional Coach and some of the women members. We’ll also talk you through how to get started with group and individual lessons.
Timings
The weekday evening sessions are 6-8pm and Saturday mornings 10am-12noon.
What to wear
You’ll need to wear trainers (golf shoes if you have them) and comfortable clothes that will allow you to swing golf clubs without restriction. We’ll provide golf clubs and balls.

We’ve recently appointed our youngest ever Women’s Captain (Alex at 27 years of age – opposite) and have voted overwhelmingly to change the name from Ladies section to Women’s section, to align with other female sports.
